Is it right for a male bouncer to grab a female without a warning first?

Friday night out, me and my friend went out into town for a couple of drinks and some dancing and karoake, and we went to the bar called Exodus, i only had a couple of drinks so i was still sober, and my friend was just beginning to get tipsy, we were over in a far corner on the seats, i went to get some water, and when she came over too meet meshe had to climb over ontop of the seats to get over as the paths were blocked by loads of people (were quite small so we couldnt push thru them), by the time she got to the second set, the bouncer went up to her as she stood on one of the seats, and grabbed her arm so hard it left red welts and pulled her off the chair and said 'Get off', i was shocked that he even did that, he didnt even wait till she got down, or give her a warning to get down he jst grabbed her arm and yanked her down, so we went to the head bouncer to put in a complaint, and he told us the bouncers name and that the complaint is going to be taken very seriously as if its happened before, now me and my friend arent rowdy or annoying when weve had a couple of drinks, if the bouncer had told her to get off the seat for her safety she would have, but he didnt? I was telling the situation too one of my friends, and someone in his contacts list made a judgemental comment about my friend who he doesnt know and hasnt met, and hes a police officer aswell and it made me very angry, was the bouncer wrong to grab my friends arm without giving an oral warning first? i can understand that some bouncers have to deal with rowdy drunks all the time...but no man especially a bouncer shouldnt lay his hand on a woman enough too leave marks.
