Irritation from band-aid adhesive...help!!?

I just had a mole removed on my neck, I'm supposed to keep it covered (doc just said w/ a band-aid) for up to 2 weeks, but it's been 5 days and for the last two days I've developed a lot irritation, some itching, and almost welt appearances from where the adhesive is. I've never had a problem w/ band-aid adhesive before, but then again I've never had to keep a band-aid on the same spot for a long period of time before. It hurts so badly, even when the water hits it. I clenched my teeth and put another one back on tonight (because well...I have to). Any suggestions? I don't think I can keep doing this anymore! So painful!
